Helping a Loved One with a Drug Addiction

One thing one must always know when dealing with someone addicted to drugs is that the addiction is to replace something. Either something lost or something never known that individual is turning to this substance, whatever it may be, because it is comfortable. There are cases where the soft easy approach is just not working and one must use tough love and go to an intervention level which is a worst case scenario. What is best is catching it early on. As soon as you notice a loved one start to change in their lifestyle in correlation with the increase in using a drug give that person a reason to not do the drug. Spend time with them take them to do things they like to do. Get involved with Art in any way. Help fill the void that they are filling with drugs.
